TL;DR: My book is ready for release! New annual subscribers can receive a signed copy, and current subscribers can earn one by referring five friend.
On September 8, Church Publishing will release my first book, The Church as Community Hub: Sharing Spaces to Help Neighborhoods Thrive.
The book explores how churches can use their buildings, land, and other resources to serve their neighborhoods through shared space, childcare, affordable housing, food programs, social enterprise, and community partnerships.
At its heart, the book asks a simple question:
How can the spaces God has entrusted to us help our neighbors thrive?
To celebrate the launch—and grow the community supporting this work—I’m offering two ways to receive a signed copy.
Become an annual subscriber
The first 20 readers who begin a new annual paid subscription will receive a signed copy of the book.
Annual subscriptions are $50 and support my independent writing, research, podcasting, and development of practical resources for church leaders.
This offer is available to U.S. mailing addresses through September 30 or while copies remain.
Already subscribe? Refer five friends
I didn’t want this promotion to benefit only new subscribers.
Current subscribers who bring five new readers to The Church Nerd during the campaign will also receive a signed copy. Substack provides every subscriber with a personal referral link and automatically tracks successful referrals.
You’ll find your referral link below this post and in the footer of my emails. Once five people subscribe through your link, you’ll receive instructions for claiming your book.
Thank you
Whether you subscribe, refer a friend, purchase the book, or simply continue reading, I’m grateful you’re here.
My hope is that this book—and the work surrounding it—will help congregations imagine more faithful, creative, and sustainable ways to serve their communities.
